Ipv6
Debian GNU/Linux as IPv6 host
The network inferface must not be configured from /etc/network/interfaces (networking.service).
Instead prefer systemd-networkd:
[Match]
Name=eth0
[Network]
DHCP=yes
IPv6AcceptRA=yes
The option DHCP enable both DHCPv4 and DHCPv6.
Debian GNU/Linux as IPv6 Requesting Router
Our provider provides ::/48 block with a 00:03 (link-layer) DUID:
[Match]
Name=eth0
[Network]
DHCP=yes
IPv6AcceptRA=yes
IPv6Forwarding=yes
[DHCPv6]
DUIDRawData=00:01:23:45:67:89:0a:bc
DUIDType=link-layer
PrefixDelegationHint=::/48
WithoutRA=solicit
The bridge address must be configured:
[Match]
Name=xenbr0
[Network]
Address=172.16.0.1/16
DHCPPrefixDelegation=yes
IPv6Forwarding=yes
IPv6SendRA=yes
[DHCPPrefixDelegation]
SubnetID=1
Token=::1
[IPv6Prefix]
Prefix=2001:bc8:3807:1::/64
The DHCPPrefixDelegation section allows to configure the address of xenbr0 from the prefix obtained with the DUID (specified in ÌPv6Prefix` section):
SubnetIDcompletes the /64 of the network partTokensets a static /64 of the address part
The global IPv6 forwarding must be activated:
[Network]
IPv6Forwarding=yes
The status of an interface can be shown with:
networkctl status xenbr0
OpenBSD as IPv6 host
Edit the xfn0 interface for IPv6:
inet autoconf
inet6 autoconf -soii -temporary
up
to configure the inferface having a EUI-64 address.
Enable and start the SLAAC deamon:
rcctl enable slaacd
rcctl start slaacd
